Colors, images, font, and layout are some of the visible aspects of web design. Behind the scenes you have code, stylesheets, databases, and scripts. All of these pieces must work together in harmony to provide an experience or information to the user on either a tv screen, computer monitor, smartphone display, or other web-enabled device.
IDI Multimedia has a team of project managers, designers and developers that can help walk you through the lifecycle of a project, from initial concept through to deployment and maintanence.
Planning & Requirements
In order for a site to succeed, it is imperative to first define the goals. During the goals definition process the target audience will be identified, metrics for measuring success will be determined, and the project’s scope will be decided. A functional requirements document is then drawn up to serve as a checklist after development and testing are complete.
Design & Development
The site layout and architecture are drawn up based on the functional requirements. With these documents in hand the designers and developers are then able to create the look and functionality of the site.
Testing & Deployment
Final testing is performed, both internally and by the client, verify that all of the original functional requirements have been completed. The site is then moved from the development and staging environment into the final production environment. And at that point, the site has been launched!
Training & Maintenance
Most of the web sites built are based on a content management system. After the site is complete, IDI will sit down with the client and show them how to take control of their content; adding, editing or deleting. Arrangements to have us help out with ongoing maintenance can be made, or IDI will quote and develop new functionality when needed.
